Ahimsa Underground Terms and Policies
Policies
Please review our policies prior to attending a class.
As a note, our yoga space is located within a private residence. Please be respectful of our home.
RESPECT
We offer a space that welcomes everyone. We expect that anyone who attends classes in our space will respect our home, our space, our equipment, the owners of the studio space, other students, and themselves. This includes arriving in a timely manner, keeping voices low to respect the peacefulness of others, and avoiding invading another yogi's space by stepping on their mat. If there is a problem, we are more than willing to discuss outside of class so please do not hesitate to contact us.
MINI YOGIS CAMP
On Saturdays, we will be offering a monthly yoga camp for kids ages 6-12 in a variety of time slots. Please be on-time for class with water in a spill-proof bottle and please have children dressed appropriately for yoga (comfortable clothing). In order to maintain cleanliness and keep each other healthy, children must remove their shoes at the door and wash their hands prior to heading down to our yoga space to begin grounding exercises until class begins. Parents, please be sure to be back by the end of class to pick up your child.
MATS & PROPS
We offer the use of mats and props dependent on their availability. We ask that students please clean the mats and props after class before returning them and to please treat our equipment with respect.
ARRIVAL
We ask that students arrive no earlier than fifteen minutes before a class is scheduled to begin. Upon arriving, please text, knock, or ring doorbell and you will be let into the residence. Shoes must be removed and left in the foyer. Personal belongings and coats may come downstairs or remain in the foyer (we lock the front door), but we do ask that you silence your cell phones. Our studio space is located downstairs, so please feel free to use this time to set up, use the bathroom, refill water, etc.
STUDIO CLEANLINESS
We promise to maintain a clean studio environment, and ask that students do their part to contribute to the cleanliness of the space. Please wipe mats and blocks when finished with wipes supplied from studio. Hand sanitizer will be made available for personal use as well as access to the bathroom to wash hands.
HEALTH AND ILLNESS
This is our home. If you aren't feeling well, please act responsibly by staying home. In return, we promise to cancel any classes if illness comes about within our home and will resume classes when it is safe to return. If you have any signs of COVID, please take a test and inform us if your test is positive so we may inform other students who may have been in contact with you. We ask that if you have a positive COVID test, you do not return for classes until you return a negative COVID test or until 5-10 days have passed.
COMFORT
If for any reason you feel anxious or uncomfortable during class, don't hesitate to exit immediately without permission or prior notification. Ahimsa Underground has always been and remains an accepting environment reserved for personal growth, not personal judgment. We want you to feel comfortable practicing yoga in our space. While there are countless studies measuring a decrease in anxiety and stress with a consistent yoga practice, we are still all human. If you need to leave, please do so quietly, and we will see you next time!
